Memory and Metamorphosis: Heterotopias of Time | Temporal transformations of Ice factories in Bombay and Sharjah

The essay delves into the multiple lives led by 2 intriguing, industrial buildings- Ice factories in Bombay and Sharjah respectively. One on the eastern end of the Arabian, the other on the west, speaking to one another, implicitly narrating their stories.

In the piece, I have attempted to use a braiding technique of combining fictional and non-fictional writing styles. The fictional bits are in italics where I imagine the past stories of the buildings whilst moving within these heterotopias of time (word coined by Michel Foucault for a building living temporal lives) in the present.
