Well-being Through Sensitive Design
Understanding the Impact of the Built Environment on Human Wellness

This open-to-all course explores the profound relationship between the built environment and human well-being. Structured across three comprehensive modules, it begins by unpacking the concept of well-being—its various dimensions, and how both built and unbuilt spaces influence our holistic health. The second module delves into key architectural elements such as daylight, scale, acoustics, biophilic design, and their psychological and physiological impacts. The final module introduces participants to rating systems, building codes, and material applications (with a focus on glass), bridging theory with practical design approaches. The course encourages a sensitive, human-centric design perspective that prioritises wellness at every scale.
